Hybrid Learning Policy - Blended Learning Program

  • Students must register before start of BL Courses to be included in the courses.
  • If text books are included with the course, they will be made available at the beginning of each course.
  • Standard BL course templates will be used for all BL courses. 
  • The LMS becomes the Syllabus for the BL course.   Course Information, Description, Outcomes, Learning Objective, Assessments and Grading, and Coursework need to configured to meet the requirements for Syllabi
  • Standard BL courses will be developed and maintained to the extent possible to ensure standardization of objective and outcomes.  These will be loaded for each BL course prior to the start of the semester.
  • Faculty member are encouraged to modify standard course assignments, grading, content, and  as needed to best fit your specific course activities and design.  
  • Assessments and feed back will be provided weekly to students in the BL teaching model.
  • LMS will be used to document work completed outside of classroom for the 49% of the course work done outside of classroom.   (For a 3 credit hour class this should be at least 15 hour of additional work,  not including Learning Journals, readings and similar work normally done as homework assignments)
     
  • Assignments and Feedback are to be posted to the LMS.  EMAIL is not normally acceptable for submission of assignments.
  • BL course assessments will be documented online using Coursework and the Grade Book.
     
  • Assignment due dates and times will be consistent within each course.  (For example:  All assignments due 11pm on Sunday evenings)

Course Recommendations

  • Configure your course about two weeks before the start of class.
  • Send an EMAIL to students using the Classmates Tab for pre-assignments and to communicate with the class.
  • Grade assignments weekly.   Students get frustrated with feedback is not timley.
  • Establish a consistent time and day of the week for assignment due dates.
  • Check the grade book > Assignment Details to ensure grades are being posted.
