Greetings Cambridge College Students:

 

We hope that the term is wrapping up well for all of you, that you are caught up on all your fall classes, and that you are getting ready for a well-deserved holiday break! If you need any help, please reach out. Also, keep these other items in mind:

 

Reminder: Spring Registration

Spring registration is open! You can view all available spring classes in the registration portal in MyCC. We encourage you to make an appointment with your advisor or success coach for advice on which classes to take in the spring. If you do not know how to register, you can watch this brief video linked here (8:35)>>. If you have a financial or business hold, please reach out to Student Financial Services at sfs@cambridgecollege.edu or call (617) 873-0403.

 

Course Evaluations

You should have received an email with a link to complete your fall 2021 course evaluations through SmartEvals. You can also link directly to your course evaluations through the “Academics” tab on MyCC > Course Evaluations. Please take a few minutes to complete your evaluations for all your fall courses. Instructors and administrators take these evaluations seriously and appreciate your feedback.

 

Critical Consciousness Series

Dr. FeLisa Albert and co-facilitator Ed Stone will be hosting their final panel discussion of the year this Friday, December 17th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The topic for this session will be “Ahmaud Arbery Verdict: Justice, Accountability, & Healing,” and it will feature panelists Tahia Bell-Sykes and Rudy Thomas. For more information and to register, click here>>. Community Resources & Cultural Engagement

Vera Dimoplon, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, has recently updated several pages on the MyCC Student Success tab. The Cultural Engagement Page is dedicated to promoting internal and external events that foster cultural competence and cultural diversity. bell hooks Tribute Reading

bell hooks, prolific author, poet, activist, educator, and trailblazing feminist, passed away on December 15, 2021. Author of more than three dozen wide-ranging books, hooks’ works, ideas, and scholarship addressed the intersections of race, gender, class, sexuality, and place. Her impact on our lives, inside and outside of the classroom, is profound. The entire Cambridge College community is invited to a celebration of her life and work. Please save the date: Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm via Zoom.
