9/30/2021 Academic Affairs Weekly Student Update

 

Greetings Cambridge College Students:

 

Hopefully, the term is going well! This will be the last Academic Affairs update from me, Dr. Jerry Ice, Interim Provost. The College has recently hired a new Provost, Dr. Stephen Healey, who will begin on October 1st. Dr. Healey hails from the University of Bridgeport, where he was Provost and more recently Interim President.

Coming to Campus

The College has adopted a new policy for vaccine verification. If you are coming on campus, bring your vaccine record card and a photo ID to the security desk. Once confirmed, you will receive your CC Vaccination Card. Be sure to have this with you at all times on campus. For a full explanation of the new process, click here>> .

 

Parking

If you are coming on campus regularly, you should obtain a student parking permit. To receive your permit, email the following information to Jessica Burgos at jessica.burgos@cambridgecollege.edu:

§  Student name, ID, phone number, & vehicle information (make, model, color, license plate).

College Central Network Access

The Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) is your central resource for career-building information. Through the CCPD you can access an online career resource tool powered by College Central Network (CCN). This platform provides tools to help you plan your career, including career research, employment opportunities, resume and cover letter writing support, and so much more.   Instructions for registering and creating an account will be sent to your Cambridge College email account – first.lastname##@go.cambridgecollege.edu  - directly from College Central Network.  Follow those instructions carefully to complete the process or contact Irina Galatskaya, Career Services Manager, via email at Irina.galatskaya@cambridgecollege.edu to learn more.

Laptop Loan Program

If you do not have your own computer for your class and to complete assigned coursework, we encourage you to obtain a loaner laptop. For more information or to request a laptop, contact Tracy McLaughlin, Associate Provost, at tracy.mclaughlin@cambridgecollege.edu.

 

Emergency Broadband Benefit Program

A Federal Communications Commission program has provided a temporary discount on monthly broadband bills for qualifying households. Under the new infrastructure bill that was just passed, this benefit will be expanded as the “Affordable Connectivity Program.”  To learn about eligibility and application options, visit www.GetEmergencyBroadband.org.
