1/30/23 Student Update

1/30/2023 Academic Affairs Weekly Student Update

Hello Cambridge College Students,

We hope you are doing well and settling into the spring term. Now that the semester is underway (and before you get really busy), we encourage you to familiarize yourself with all the support services the College offers. We list some of our services below, and you can click here to access our resource pages>>.

Health Insurance Waivers

VERY IMPORTANT: If you are new to the College this semester, have health insurance, and are taking any remote or in-person classes in Massachusetts, you will need to complete the health insurance waiver, so you are not charged for health insurance that you do not need. You must do this by January 31, 2023. For more information, visit this page>>

Tutoring and Academic Support

Cambridge College has wonderful professional tutors available in reading, writing, math, statistics, accounting, technology, and MTEL support. This is a great resource for you, which is available free of charge. For information on how to make an appointment with a tutor, please see the information on the Tutorials Page on MyCC or click here>>.

Opportunity for Affordable Connectivity

Some of you may be interested in this opportunity for low-cost internet service through the Affordable Connectivity Program, which helps low-income households pay for broadband service and internet-connected devices. If your household is eligible, you can receive:

  • Up to a $30/month discount on your internet service
  • Up to a $75/month discount if your household is on qualifying Tribal lands
  • A one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer (with a co-payment of more than $10 but less than $50)

For more information, visit https://acpbenefit.org/.

Laptop Loan Program

Laptop computers are essential for student success. If you do not have a dedicated computer, we encourage you to obtain a loaner laptop. For more information or to request a laptop, contact Tracy McLaughlin, Associate Provost, at tracy.mclaughlin@cambridgecollege.edu.
