8/21/23 Student Update

Hello Cambridge College Students,

 

We hope you are enjoying the summer and are starting to get ready for the fall term! As you likely know, classes in the upcoming fall term begin on September 4, 2023. When you register for fall classes, you will notice that courses continue to be offered in many different modalities. Be sure to double check the listed modalities of your course(s), so you understand where and how they will be taught. If you have not yet registered, be sure to do so soon before classes fill up. Canvas LMS Training – August 2023

Dr. Michael Marrapodi and Dr. Daniel Ibarrondo will be offering training sessions for the Canvas learning management system. Sessions will last one hour. Please be sure to register for these workshops. The dates and times are listed below:

How to Research Companies & Industries

Tuesday, August 22, 7:00-8:00 p.m. (ET) via Zoom. Click here to register >>

Developing your skill at researching companies and industries can pay off in numerous ways. It can help you with your coursework, identify prospective employers, prepare for interviews, and research personal investments. CC Librarian Jeff Cronin will begin with a brief presentation about the different types of companies, e.g., publicly held and privately held. He will then discuss a variety of resources on the web and in databases at the Cambridge College Online Library that provide data and analysis for companies and industries. There will also be an opportunity for questions.

 

Google Calendar and Scheduling Tools

Come learn how to use the many Google apps that you have access to with your Gmail account. Do you use your Google calendar as a time management tool? Are your assignments well organized in your Google Drive so that they are easy to find? Do you know what Google Keep is and how helpful it can be? This workshop will be fun and will focus on how to use these tools to help you organize your schoolwork and your life!

 

MTEL Workshop - Foundations of Reading - Session 4

MTEL instructor Rosemarie Romano will be offering a 4-session MTEL workshop for those preparing to take the Foundations of Reading test. English Conversation Group 

Our English Conversation Group is designed to help English language learners practice conversational skills in a safe and structured environment. English Conversation Groups meet virtually via Zoom every Thursday (except federal holidays). There is no charge to attend, but registration is required.
