5/23/2022 Academic Affairs Weekly Student Update

Hello Cambridge College Students:

Congratulations to those of you graduating this term! We are celebrating with you and look forward to seeing you at commencement on June 12th.

We hope you are all doing well and that those of you on break are enjoying the time off. While online classes are currently in session, most other classes begin the week of June 6th. In preparation for classes, be sure to review your course syllabus and obtain any required textbooks or materials. Your course instructor(s) will likely reach out soon with a welcome email. Here are some other items to keep in mind:

How to Research Companies & Industries

Tuesday, May 24, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. (ET) Click here to register >>

Developing your skill at researching companies and industries can pay off in numerous ways. It can help you with your coursework, identify prospective employers, prepare for interviews, and research personal investments. CC Librarian Jeff Cronin will begin with a brief presentation about the different types of companies, e.g., publicly held and privately held. He will then discuss a variety of resources on the web and in databases at the Cambridge College Online Library that provide data and analysis for companies and industries. There will also be an opportunity for questions. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. If you need any additional information, please contact Jeff Cronin at Jeffrey.Cronin@cambridgecollege.edu

Canvas Training for Students

Beginning in the summer 2022 term, all courses will be using Canvas as the Learning Management System. Each training session will show students the Canvas course settings, notifications, inbox communications, conducting coursework such as uploading assignments, taking a quiz, participating in discussion forums, and utilizing Canvas help resources. We encourage all students to register for one of the Canvas training sessions below:
