Hello Cambridge College Students:

 

We hope you are doing well and settling into the fall term. If you are new to the College or simply would like to learn more about the resources and services we offer to support you, consider attending our upcoming Resource Fair.

 

Fall 22-23 Virtual Resource Fair!

Health Insurance Waivers

VERY IMPORTANT: If you are taking classes in Massachusetts and you currently have your own health insurance coverage, you will need to complete the health insurance waiver, so you are not charged for health insurance that you do not need. You must do this by September 30, 2022. For more information, visit this page>>.

 

Tutoring and Academic Support

Cambridge College has wonderful professional tutors available in reading, writing, math, statistics, accounting, technology, and MTEL support. This is a great resource for you, which is available free of charge. Laptop Loan Program

Laptop computers are essential for student success. If you do not have a dedicated computer, we encourage you to obtain a loaner laptop. For more information or to request a laptop, contact Tracy McLaughlin, Associate Provost, at tracy.mclaughlin@cambridgecollege.edu.

 

Grammarly

All registered CC students should have received an email with instructions for how to activate your Grammarly Premium account. How to Research Companies & Industries

Developing your skill at researching companies and industries can pay off in numerous ways. It can help you with your coursework, identify prospective employers, prepare for interviews, and research personal investments. CC Librarian Jeff Cronin will begin with a brief presentation about the different types of companies, e.g., publicly held and privately held. He will then discuss a variety of resources on the web and in databases at the Cambridge College Online Library that provide data and analysis for companies and industries. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. Job Search Effectiveness

Students will learn about traditional and non-traditional job searches and so much more! We can help you kick start your job search, talk to you about networking, or addressany other job search-related questions you might have. Even if you are not looking for a job, you are encouraged to attend to learn how to prepare for the future. This is a workshop you will not want to miss!

 

English Conversation Group 

Our English Conversation Group is designed to help English language learners practice conversational skills in a safe and structured environment. English Conversation Groups meet virtually via Zoom every Monday and Thursday (except federal holidays). There is no charge to attend, but registration is required.

Canvas Training Course

If you need Canvas training, you can take the self-guided Canvas training course. All students are automatically enrolled in the CST100: Canvas Student Training course. When you log into MyCC, go to the gray area left menu bar (Quick Links) where you will find a link to “Canvas.”  Click on that link for Canvas access. If you haven’t already accepted it, the top of the screen may display a message informing you of your enrollment in the CST100 Canvas Student Training. Click on “Accept” and you are ready to begin the course starting at the “Home” page. This Canvas course is self-guided, not timed, and contains the same material covered in the live monthly scheduled Zoom sessions. If you’d like to learn more about Canvas, you can access a video providing an overview here >>.
