We hope that the term is wrapping up well for all of you, that you are caught up on all your spring classes, and that you are getting ready for a well-deserved break! If you need help, please reach out. We have wonderful tutors standing by to provide any needed support.

 

Reminder: Summer Registration

Summer registration is open! You can view all available summer classes in the registration portal in MyCC. We encourage you to make an appointment with your advisor or success coach for advice on which classes to take in the summer. If you do not know how to register, you can watch this brief video linked here (8:35)>>. If you have a financial or business hold, please reach out to Student Financial Services at sfs@cambridgecollege.edu or call (617) 873-0403.

APA Bootcamp

This workshop will cover the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition citation style. We will cover APA basics, including how to format the most used sources for papers and the basics of in-text citations. There will also be an opportunity for questions.

So, what's the difference between a resume and LinkedIn profile? Eighty-seven percent of recruiters are using LinkedIn to attract and find their next employee and 92% of recruiters prefer to hire through LinkedIn rather than any other social network. Additionally, learning from what alumni and other professionals have done in their career is a great way to explore areas of interest and majors. This workshop is designed to walk students through building their own LinkedIn profile and the value of a LinkedIn profile.

The session will explore the diverse career paths available within the industry and share insights on how new entrants can find compelling opportunities to launch their careers. All students and alumni of all majors as well as career changers are welcome to attend!  

 

Community Time

'Community Time' is a monthly event and an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to spend an hour together to share their experiences and build a stronger CC community. Each 'Community Time' event will have a topic for discussion and provide an opportunity to share your story, as well as connect with peers and colleagues in a safe space. May discussion topics include: Plans for the summer; Reflect on the Spring semester experience (challenges and victories); Career discussion (career plans and barriers in securing a dream job).

English Conversation Group 

Our English Conversation Group is designed to help English language learners practice conversational skills in a safe and structured environment. English Conversation Groups meet virtually via Zoom every Monday and Thursday (except federal holidays). There is no charge to attend, but registration is required.
