4/19/22 Student Update

4/19/2022 Academic Affairs Weekly Student Update

Hello Cambridge College Students:

This month, we are excited to welcome two new professional writing tutors to Cambridge College, Laura Allen and Joel Krikorian. Both tutors are exceptionally well qualified and will be offering tutor appointments on weekends, as well as on weekday evenings. If you would like to make an appointment with either tutor, you can do so by logging into Starfish and click on ‘Academic Success Center’ on your home screen. For more detailed instructions, please see the information on the Tutorials Page on MyCC , or click here>>.

Laura Allen is a committed tutor and professor who has been teaching and tutoring since 2011 and finds great joy in helping students find their strengths as writers. A key feature of her tutoring philosophy is helping students see value in their work within and beyond the course or degree program. She has several years of experience working in business settings at large companies and is passionate about helping students understand the value of writing and good communication within academic and professional work settings.

Joel Krikorian was born in Indonesia and has taught English both locally and abroad for several years. He has experience teaching all aspects of the English language, but especially enjoys teaching writing. He also has expertise teaching students who are English language learners. His approach to tutoring academic writing involves demystifying the process; removing the fear associated with it; and breaking down any writing task into simple, approachable, manageable steps. He has tremendous appreciation for the adults he teaches or tutors since they are his most driven, goal-oriented students.

This week, we are offering the following workshops:

There will also be an opportunity for questions. Click here>> to register for this event. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
