Hello Cambridge College Students,

 

We hope you are doing well and settling into the summer term. If you have not yet registered, consider registering for classes that start later in the term. Reach out to your advisor or success coach to learn what classes are still available that fit into your academic plan.

 

Laptop Loan Program

Laptop computers are essential for student success. If you do not have a dedicated computer, we encourage you to obtain a loaner laptop. For more information or to request a laptop, contact Tracy McLaughlin, Associate Provost, at tracy.mclaughlin@cambridgecollege.edu.

 

Canvas

For those of you who are new this semester, here is a brief overview of Canvas, the College’s learning management system: Canvas was adopted by the College because it is easy to use, mobile friendly, and collaborative. Canvas will be your online classroom, where you will find your syllabus, course information, lectures, reading assignments, etc. Canvas is also where you will communicate with your instructor and classmates. Grammarly

All CC students who have registered for summer classes should have received an email with a link to set up their Grammarly Premium account. If you did not receive the invitation, please reach out to leah.barcan@cambridgecollege.edu. How to Research Companies & Industries

Developing your skill at researching companies and industries can pay off in numerous ways. It can help you with your coursework, identify prospective employers, prepare for interviews, and research personal investments. CC Librarian Jeff Cronin will begin with a brief presentation about the different types of companies, e.g., publicly held and privately held. He will then discuss a variety of resources on the web and in databases at the Cambridge College Online Library that provide data and analysis for companies and industries. There will also be an opportunity for questions.

This workshop will cover the following: preparing for a successful interview, research and job description review, types of interviews and interview questions, salary negotiation, and post-interview follow up. Habits for Wellbeing (Be-Do-Have)

Dr. Jean Lendall, Academic Success Coach, will share a self-coaching process based on the Be-Do-Have approach. Learn to shift your thinking to establish healthy habits for well-being, with a particular focus on setting intentions and achieving educational goals. Come with an open mind and be prepared to do a little journaling. 

 

English Conversation Group 

Our English Conversation Group is designed to help English language learners practice conversational skills in a safe and structured environment. English Conversation Groups meet virtually via Zoom every Monday and Thursday (except federal holidays). There is no charge to attend, but registration is required.
