Description

This course examines youth risk behaviors and protective factors. Students analyze societal, psychological, family, and environmental influences as well as the inter-relationship between depression, tobacco use, drug and alcohol use, violent behavior and sexual activity. Students investigate strategies that build health/social emotional skills and identify support services available in the school and community. The course is aligned with MA PSTs and the Content Knowledge and Differentiation in Instruction components of the NBPTS.
