New Perspectives in Teaching HumanSexuality (EHE 703)

Description

Students investigate trends in comprehensive sexuality education such as: cultural and religious attitudes, gender identity, homophobia, strategies for building support for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth, and building acceptance and involvement of diverse family structures. Social emotional learning is integrated throughout the course. Assessments include a parent education project, skills-based health/social emotional sexuality lesson, examination of attitudes about teaching sexuality, and skills for supporting LGBT students.
The course is aligned with MA PSTs.
