Description

How Does Your Dinner Grow? Exploring Connections Between Food Production and
Sustainability will offer educators the opportunity to explore real-world phenomena through
hands-on, minds-on investigations, live discussion, virtual site-visits and small group work using
Part I, Course Outline and Part II, Class Agenda Page 1 of 16
Zoom and Schoology. Throughout the course, educators will integrate the theory and practice of inquiry-based education with the Science and Engineering Practices and make connections
across disciplinary core ideas in science. Working with educators from Shelburne Farms,
Massachusetts Farm to School, and the Trustees of Reservations, teachers will explore
sustainable food production. They will develop a standards-aligned unit plan and inquiry-based
investigations appropriate for their teaching context.
